Ransomware, Toolbars, and Viruses, Oh My!

What is this you ask? This is one of those FBI viruses that popped up on your computer and demanded money. You see this don’t hesitate to call me and what ever you do DON’T SEND THEM MONEY!!! It’s a virus that has taken over your computer and needs to be dealt with. There are so many different viruses that even if you keep your computer up to date and you just happen to go to what you thought was a safe site, NOT. We have to be very careful in what we search and do on the computer.

Lets say you see something you want to down load or maybe the Kids, grandkids or anyone that uses your computer wants to down load from the internet and the next time you are online and you notice that it’s slower getting online and there are a number of toolbars set on the page like this and/or you are getting popups. That is a virus also, unless you knowingly put them on your toolbar. In that case, ok, but having all those tool bars isn’t helping the performance of you computer.

Those are just a couple of virus issues that are out there and you know, no matter what you do those darn things just happen to grab you on line and that’s it, your done.

So what do we need to do, be very careful in what we do and how we do it.

Set up parental controls on your kids and maybe grandpa to. It’s very ease to do and will be very comfortable for you knowing they can’t do things to the computer when we aren’t around to show them.
